CBeyond Cancer engaged in a strategic planning process, identified organizational strengths and considered impending cancer related healthcare needs. From that effort, two strategic themes around support for cancer families emerged and were identified as the organization’s strategic initiatives:
1. PSYCHO-SOCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS
CBeyond Cancer supports organizations or programs that provide emotional support services to patients and their families that otherwise are not covered by insurance or safety net programs. These may include counseling, support groups, child life specialists, meditation, physical exercise programs, etc.
2. DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS
CBeyond Cancer Supports organizations or programs that provide direct financial support to families during the difficult time of treating cancer. The support is meant to cover expenses that otherwise would not have to be incurred while caring for a family member. Examples of support include transportation, child care, home care, rent/mortgage assistance, lodging if traveling to hospital, etc.
